The Adventure Park 2014

All it took was one trip to The Adventure Park in Bloomfield Hills MI, to test the strengths and fears of not only the scouts who attended the trip, but their leaders as well.

Going through the different courses, each having

its own, unique obstacles from tree to tree, using a harness, and ziplining, presented a true challenge to all those that attended.  One of the scouts was asked about his experience, as he stood 50 ft up in the air, and the reply was a loud yell "THIS IS AMAAZING !!!" as he proceeded to zipline a good 80ft across the park.

If you are planning on visiting the park, our advice to you is that you need strength, determination, balance, and a strong unfearful heart.

We thank all those volunteers that came out there and helped to make this trip a fun and exciting experience for our scouts.

Eagle Scout Orphan Drive 2014

We know the world is in good hands when we see dedicated, hardworking young men achieve success in this world.  We then take a moment, step back, contemplate for a minute and ask ourselves, What if that success wasn't just meant for this world? What kind of hands would the world be in if the successful achieves success in both this world and the hereafter?

After long hours of setting up an orphan drive in the community, Ibrahim Hassan, with the help of those around him, was finally able to complete his Eagle Scout project.  Making flyers, spreading the news through social media, collecting boxes, dropping them off at people's homes, and picking them all up a week later, Ibrahim was able to raise over 150 boxes of food and clothes.

The Muslim Scouts of Michigan congratulates Ibrahim Hassan on his amazing efforts, and thanks all those individuals that helped with making this project a true success !

A Dearborn Allstars Victory

The story started when one of our scouts, Hussein Saad, was overheard saying "I've always wanted to play in a soccer league."  Little did he know that his wish was being worked on day and night by the leaders of the MSM.

The day finally arrived where the recruiting for the Dearborn Allstars soccer team started, and practices were held 3 times a week.  The Dearborn Allstars now holds 18 scouts who have a strong passion for the world's most popular sport, aka, Soccer.

Congratulations to the Dearborn AllStars for their 4-0 victory against the Garden City Coyotes (9/15/2013).

Cedar Point

Many people naturally experience fear when they're exposed to heights, but not when it comes to the members of the Al-Qua2em den who claimed otherwise.  Their leader, Ali Charara, wanted to test them in order to sort out the chickens from the real men, and what a better way to do that than to have them ride the colossal 309 ft high, 45 degree 300 ft drop at 95 mph roller coaster called the Millenium Force at Cedar Point.

A secret interview was conducted after the ride with an anonymous leader who said,   " we don't want the scouts to know about the leaders who went to tie their shoes before the ride and then vanished. " We certainly don't want to mention any names, but everyone knows who you are !!!

In the end, the MSM directs a warm thank you to all those that came out and made this trip a successful and fun activity for the scouts.  We hope to see you in all future MSM activities

Ramadan Quran Program

The Muslim Scouts of Michigan     Troop / Pack 1139 congratulates all those that participated in the Quran recitation program that started July 9th of 2013 and ended August 7th.  An average of 40 scouts met everyday, and recitated one section (jizi2) for 30 days. Certificates of completion and appreciation were passed out at the end of the program.

The MSM thanks each individual that helped contribute to the success of this program, and we pray that Allah (sw) accepts all your hard work and good deeds.

Webelos Biking Trip

If the Webelos were thinking that their biking trip at Lakeshore Park in Novi Michigan was going to be a nice walk in the park, Boy, were they wrong!!!  The 10 mile trail zigzagged through the woods with obstacles in every direction.  One of the scouts was caught complaining to a leader saying “Let’s take the easy route”, which the leader agreed to, not for the sake of the scouts, but because he was exhausted, and could not handle the maze in the woods.

In the end, and after much scrapes, cuts, bruises, and scars, we congratulate every single scout who attended this 10 mile bike trail, and are extremely proud of these strong young individuals who continue to stand up to challenges and overcome them.

IMAM ALI CELEBRATION

For the commemoration of the birth of the first of our imams, Imam Ali ibn Abi Taleb (as), the Muslim Scouts of Michigan (MSM) Troop / Pack 1139 held a great celebration in honor of this happy occasion.  The celebration which took place at Riverside Academy last Sunday the 26th of May 2013 was a huge success.  The scouts presented a series of educational, and comedy skits, poetry, and anasheed which helped set the mood for the celebration.  Food, and prizes were passed out, and all the scouts were happy.

The MSM would like to thank every leader, scout, parent and any volunteer that contributed to the success of this event.   May Allah (sw) bless you and we hope to see everyone present in all of our future events.
